In the story Hamlet by Shakespeare, Hamlet and his uncle, King Claudius, come across as the two main characters that cause the most conflict. Due to the murder of former King Hamlet, Hamlet debates on whether suicide is the only way to cope with the death of his father, until he later finds out his uncle, current king, and step-father is responsible for his father ÃŒ s death. Hamlet and the new King then plan for each others death, which takes a turn for the worst. The differences and similarities between these two characters are pronounced, and they deserve thorough examination. Hamlet displays as the depressed, crazy Prince that lost his mind after the death of his father. He is strictly only worried about what benefits him the most. Toward the end, he tries to get rid of Prince Hamlet because he realizes Hamlet is a problem towards his elegant life. Claudius says in the text, â€Å"Do not delay. He must be out of here tonight† (Act 4, Scene 3). Although, his villain qualities are very strong, the love he has for Queen Gertrude seems real and sincere. Due to many betrayals the king did, Hamlet had it out for him, which soon led to the death of way more people than needed. The similarities between these two characters of Hamlet, is that they both truly feel for Queen Gertrude. Despite the hate they have each other, the love for the queen for the both of them stay sincere. They also are very manipulative, as in how Hamlet made everyone believe he has gone crazy and Claudius had fooled everyone on what had really happened with the death of his brother. On the contrary , Claudius is very selfish and Hamlet is selfless. King Claudius strictly only cares about what benefits him, although Hamlet does not care about benefits him the most. There Are Two Types of People There are two types of people born everyday. These types of people are either male or female. In some parts of the world, the difference between these two types of people defines the role each will play throughout their lives. The male person is usually the larger boned of the two types of people. Biologically, he is typically the more physically stronger than the average female. Growing lists of medical facts distinctively gender related reveal differences in how these two types of peoples’ brains work differently. Gender based findings provide the main differences between the way these two types of peoples’ brains do work. Male Brains Men, contrary to some incorrect beliefs do not have a larger brain than women – but it is distinctively made of harder stuff making them very hard headed. This is especially true when it comes to asking directions when they are lost. Rather than admitting they are lost they will even comment when told to ask for directions, â€Å"No this is an adventure†. That comment makes some sort of primal sense because modern man evolved much too quickly becoming civilized and having no longer the â€Å"need† to hunt to be the brute not that long ago protecting his cave and the tribe. It is this sense of no closure from the advances of civilization ripping him from his primal environment. It makes perfect sense. At the top of the brain is a golf ball sized portion dedicated to functioning around sports involving the use of a ball and is only outsized by the portion of the brain dedicated to dangerous pursuits. Nearly overtaking the area where the medulla oblongata is located is a large region of this type of person’s brain where addictions center and is easily stimulated by TV and RF remote controls. In the frontal lobe where human attention abilities function, unfortunately, in men this gender based characteristic is at best, extremely underdeveloped and lies right next to the barely identifiable region used for listening. The largest portion of the male brain that has little change since the long ago migration from the cave into human dwellings, communities, cities, and nations is the part of the brain controlling domestic skills. Interestingly enough the smallest distinguishable region of the male brain is the pin-sized portion sitting just before the large domestic skills region called toilet aiming capacity. Female Brain The largest distinguishable portion of a female brain is located in the center and I called the headache generator. Toward the frontal area of a female brain and only slightly smaller than the headache is the box shaped portion dedicated to the passion of shoes. Strongly gender based and only identifiable in the female brain is this fashion sense portion of any aged female brain. The frontal region of the female brain is only slightly showing new development for realization of wants versus needs. Current reports of ongoing studies of this region reveal the implications of some benign neuron activity appearing in females over the age of 30. Conclusive evidence has yet to be published, whereas the area the size of a middle finger located adjacent to the headache generator id the gold digging sensory that new studies reveal is shrinking in new generations of females in the 21st century. Another region the size of a dime located in the lower frontal lobe area of the female brain is the area stimulated by shiny things, diamonds, and particularly aligned with the female olfactory abilities. They also began talking incessantly without making any sense. The differences in the brains of these two types of people, continues being studied for their gender based characteristics. Every Grain of sand Essay poem tells a story within its words, even if it is not directly stated. Nearly every word and phrase in a poem, and even its punctuation has a meaning and a message that the author is trying to send across to the reading or listening audience. Not always is it easy to immediately understand what the poet is trying to say, but within the words and punctuation, over time and with analysis, interpretation is possible. Poetry is a group of so many words that a poet carefully chooses to show certain meaning. The song Every Grain of Sand that is written by Bob Dylan deserves to be called poetry because of his careful use of tone, symbolism, allusion, simile and enjambments. Tone is an important part of poetry. It sets the mood of the piece and gives the audience a sense of what is going on and how the narrator feels. In Every Grain of Sand the tone is one of sadness and depression. There is a certain desperate tone in the poem, as the narrator looks for help in the hour of their deepest need. This is evident in the first and second lines of the first stanza when it is written In the time of my confession, in the hour of my deepest need / When pool of tears beneath my feet flood every newborn seed. The time of confession sets a solemn tone, for when a person is confessing it is usually a quiet, personal, and regretful time. This sad emotion that the tone sets is further emphasized when the author uses words and phrases like sorrow of Night, violence, chill, bitter, loneliness and broken mirror of innocence. These all set a mood of sadness, anger, bitterness, hatred and darkness that the narrator feels in his hour of need, as they carry the burden, or the chains, of their past mistakes. Although most of the poem keeps with a sad tone, the tone shifts slightly. Line fifteen says Then onward on my journey I come to understand This line shows that he is slowly on his way, realizing things he perhaps did not at first. Symbolism is another important poetic device that is used throughout this poem. Ones entire understanding of the poem relies upon their understanding of the symbols applied. Bob Dylan uses symbolism on numerous occasions throughout his song Every Grain of Sand. In the line When the pool of tears beneath my feet flood every newborn seed,(1. 2) Dylan uses the flooding of the newborn seed to represent how the tears and sadness are drowning out the hope of a new start or of finding peace. The dyin voice within me (1. 3) represents this drowning hope that this person still has for a better life, even though there remains a feeling of despair, as it is said in line four. Dylan continues using nature in his symbolism in stanza 3, lines 9 and 10, Oh the flowers of indulgence and the weeds of yesteryear, / Like Criminals, they have choked the breath of conscience and good cheer. The flowers of indulgence represent the temptations in life drawing people to their beauty, while the weeds of yesteryear choking the breath of conscience and go od cheer represent the numbing effects of over indulgence. Things that once seemed to make life great have been used so much that, after a while, they are no longer fulfilling, leaving emptiness in a person. Even as the narrator realizes this, temptation still draws them in. I gaze into the doorway of temptations angry flame. / And every time I pass that way I always hear my name (4.13-14) shows this. The doorway represents an opportunity or a choice to follow a path that leads to an angry flame, which can represent evil and hell. The voices calling are the inner temptation that we all have for things that give us immediate satisfaction. Throughout the poem, Dylan uses symbols to represent God or a higher power.
